Trinity/WOW blog hop – Wreath card

Hello crafty friends. I’m so pleased to be part of the Trinity Stamp Co. and WOW embossing powders blog hop. We have some amazing cards to show you. If this is your first time visiting my blog – welcome! I’m so thrilled that you’ve come. There is more information about the hop at the bottom of this post. If you are following along the Hop, you should have arrived here from the lovely Christine. Don’t you just love her soft elegant card?

I have made a card today that uses just one small stamp – the steam from the Coffee with Character stamp set. This steam has a really pleasing flow to it, so I decided to make a card using it in a different way.

I used the Gina K wreath builder template, and positioned the stamp so that the flames would just touch each other as I moved the paper around the template. I stamped in clear embossing ink, and then used WOW embossing powder in Rich Pale Gold. I used a mix of reds, orange and yellow watercolour markers to colour the images, trying to make the ‘flames’ as vibrant as possible.

In order to have a perfectly matched gold circle in the middle of my card, I used the same gold embossing powder to colour my card stock. The sentiment is one that I use often and it’s made from words from the Seasonal Sweetheart stamp from Trinity.

I used some foam tape to pop up the centre, and added the panel to some vibrant red card stock, and my card was done.

I hope this card has inspired you to think outside the square about how you can use your stamps!

This hop runs from today until March 3rd, and we have some fabulous prizes, so hop along and comment on each blog to be in the running. The Blog Hop prize announcement is on Wednesday, 6th March 2019, Greenwich Time.Winners will be announced on both Trinity Stamps & WOW! Embossing blog.

  1. Wow what a lesson in creative thinking, I love it! I would not have thought of using the steam in that way, I honestly thought it was a sun stamp when I first looked at it. Thank you for sharing this and for the wonderful inspiration, I definitely have to start looking at my stamps differently 🙂
