Happy Birthday Pink and Main – Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to Pink and Main’s 5th Birthday blog hop! We have great inspiration and great prizes, so hop along and join in the celebrations. Firstly, I want to say congratulations to Michelle at Pink and Main. She is such a pleasure to work with, and she is a wonder at organisation! Also, I’m so happy to be involved in a company that is committed to supporting the Muscular Distrophy Association with part of its profits. Well done Michelle and Pink and Main!

So, on with the hop!

Hopefully you have arrived here from Cass’s blog. I love her clean soft style so much!

I have made a card for you today that uses the Bee Day Stamps set (and matching dies) and also the It’s a Party Paper pad. The paper pad has loads of bright fun designs. I chose a bright yellow check for today’s card.

I decided to make a bee-filled shaker card, so the first thing I did was stamp and colour a large quantity of little bees for the shaker element. I used the scalloped square die from the Pull and Flip die set to cut the shaker window, and then filled it with tiny bees and sequins.

Next, I stamped the larger bee and the hive in Memento ink, and coloured them with my Copic markers. I decided to keep to a very monochromatic colour scheme, so I made the balloon yellow as well.

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx black ink, and mounted on some more of the yellow background paper.

The final touches were a few more bees, and some sequins around the card.

Now onto the fan girl part of the blog. The next stop on this hop is the amazing Jennifer McGuire, one of my absolute stamping heroes. Finally I get a chance to link to her blog without looking like a stalker! I love that Engineer mind of hers, which answers my kind of questions and allows me to use techniques to go beyond just the cards that she’s demonstrated. I know you’ll love what she has for you.
