Hi fellow crafters. I have a set of cards today that use a Christmas stamp set from Paper Rose in a decidedly un-Christmassy way! I’m always looking for ways to get the most out of my supplies, as they are a huge investment, especially if you live outside the USA.

The stamp set in question is the Christmas Poinsettia, which has a selection of leaves and berries.

For this first card, I created a circle mask from post it paper, and blended Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, and Seedless Preserves. I then stamped the branch from the stamp set coming in from the right of the cards.

The sentiment is a cling rubber stamp, called Journey with Friends.

This second card uses the same stamp set and inks. I inked up a piece of white cardstock with the three distress inks, and then cut hexagons using the Stitched Hexagons die, making sure that each hexagon included a mix of colours. I then made sure that the Distress Ink was completely dry before continuing.

I stamped the images across each rectangle in clear ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I used a scrap of leftover paper for my sentiment, which I also heat embossed in white.

Finally, I embossed the centre of a piece of card stock to use behind some die cut letters. I used the Alphabet Die to cut the words from white card. Using my stamp positioning tool, I stamped the floral elements on both the white, and the coloured layers of my card. the stamp positioning tool was perfect for this job, as I could stamp all the images at once, and just switch out the papers.

Once this was done, I felt that the card needed framing, so I added a hand drawn stitched border around the edges.
