interactive cards – Heffy Doodle/Pink and Main blog hop

Hi crafty friends. Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Pink & Main blog hop! Perhaps this is your first stop. More likely though, you have been hopping along from the beginning, and you’re almost done! If you’re starting with my blog, welcome! Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies.

I’m glad to see you here! I have two fun interactive cards to share with you today, as well as I video of how I altered the Pull Tab Slider to create a 3-in-1 slider.

There is a giveaway too! To be entered to win the giveaway, all you need to do is comment at each stop along the Blog Hop. Pink and Main will be giving away a Surprise Package worth $25 and Heffy Doodle will be giving away £25 to their respective stores. Be sure to comment before 11:59 PM on April 1st to be entered to win.

Each company will post their random winner on April 2nd at 10AM EST.  Make sure to check the Heffy Doodle Blog and Pink and Main Blog to see if you’re a winner.

I have made a video of the construction of this card, which you can view here, along with some footage of the other card in action too:

My first card today has a slider mechanism that gives the rabbit his long legs, and helps the carrots to grow. You can see the two positions of the card in the photos above and below. I used the Love Ewe Stamp and matching dies from Pink and Main for this card. Each of the critters on this stamp has lovely long legs that make it really fun! I stamped and coloured all the elements with my Copic Markers, and then set about constructing the card. (well, after making several engineering trials, to make sure it would work!)

The papers on the card are from the Hooray! paper pack, also from Pink and Main. I used the border from Heffy Doodle’s Slimline Pull Tab Dies to cut the pieces. I really like that scalloped border. The sentiment is another collaboration between the two companies. The ‘hello’ is cut using Heffy Doodle’s Stitched Alphabetters dies.

The second card has a slightly more complex mechanism inside, as it is held in two places with split pins, which make the mushrooms sway from side to side, rather than just sliding! You can see this action at the very end of the video.

The images for this card come from one of my favourite stamp sets – Pink and Main’s Gnome Matter What. I used the matching dies to cut the images. When it came to stamping the (swaying) mushrooms, I just inked up the part of the stamp that I wanted to use, and extended the stems of the mushrooms with a black marker. I used the same papers and sentiment dies as the previous card. You can find all the supplies linked below if you want more information, or to see a picture of them.

I hope that you’re really enjoying the blog hop. I’ve seen sneak peeks of the cards, and the creativity is amazing. Don’t forget to hop along and comment on each blog if you’d like to win the prizes.

  1. I have the Gnome matter what stamp/die set and love playing with it. This gives me so much more options to work with. Love the thought of putting a slide so the mushrooms move. Might have to try this. Thank you for sharing.
