Hello crafty friends. I have a set of cards today that tell you about the state of my vegetable patch. Since returning from Japan we’re slowly reclaiming areas of the garden, including one little veggie patch into which we’ve put some seedlings. The leaves on these sweet cards remind me of them in their current tiny state. Hopefully in a few months we’ll have cabbages and onions to report! Onto the cards!

These cards use a stamp set called Lots of Leaves from Paper Rose Studio, but you may have a different set in your stash that you could use for this technique . I first laid the stamps out onto a white card base in my MISTI ( a stamp platform of some kind is a big time saver for this) I stamped the images twice in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is Copic friendly, and then coloured one set of leaves, leaving the others blank. I then inked up another piece of white card using Distress Oxides in Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. Once the inks were dry, I put this panel into the MISTI and stamped the leaves again, this time using Versafine Onyx Black ink, which is a pigment ink, and darker and somehow inkier!

Here’s where the time saving kicked in. Because the panels were all stamped the same, I could spend time laying the dies neatly on the first panel, and then just use the holes made by the first cut, and align my papers to cut through the next two. ( I used washi tape to tape the two sheets together). You have to do this one extra sheet at a time, you can’t just layer up all the sheets. But if you have large sets of cards to make, it’s brilliant!
I then layered the still black and white set of leaves back into the negative space on the panel to make my first card. This sentiment comes from a set called Bright Days Ahead Cut aparts.

The ink blended and copic coloured leaves were mixed together to make some small sprigs, and I added these to four more cards. Two of the cards use a piece of twine to ‘tie’ the card together, and I used larger cut apart sentiments for the other two cards. I really love Kraft and white together, so I love these cards.

Leaves make such versatile cards. I’ve made one birthday, one thank you and three congratulations cards with these. I think they would suit so many different people. That’s all for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with another card; one that is completely different to these!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this card, and that you’re having fun crafting, wherever you may be. For more crafty inspiration, feel free to follow me on YouTube or Instagram, or here on my blog.
Until next time, keep having fun,
Blessings
Donna
