Hello crafty friends. I’m back after a very fun packed holiday to visit my parents. In one week we celebrated Christmas, New Year, an 80th birthday and a 250 parkrun milestone from my dad, who’s 83! It was great to have some time away, and I’m ready to start work again (for a few hours at least, until the 2am arrival home catches up with me!)
I have a set of four cards that I made and photographed before I left for Perth using a very simple formula, and the Embossed Diecuts from the Flower Shoppe range from Paper Rose. There are lots of beautiful floral images in the set, and I’ve laid a few extras out in the photos for your enjoyment. Here are the four cards.

The formula is one background, one die cut, one feature image. I chose images from the Flower Shoppe collection of Embossed Diets from Paper Rose, but you could use anything for this, or colour your own images. You can add one sentiment to that if you wish, as I have, to make it 1+1+1+1. To make the backgrounds I have blended Distress Oxide in various shades of blue onto some white cardstock, then splashed liberally with some white gouache mixed with water. I then chose a die and image combo as follows:
For this first card, I used the Wheat Field border die. All the diecut elements were cut from Frost White Shimmer Paper. If you look closely, you can see a little piece of grey-blue paper tucked in behind the sentiment where I extended the woman’s skirt, so she could see out over the wheat!

This next card uses one of my favourite background dies, the Lincoln circle die. There’s a lovely middle to this die too, but I just used the outer circle for this card.

Next, I had a bit of a play with perspective with the Gingko leaves die. The scale makes the sprig look like it’s a whole branch above this truck, also from the Flower Shoppe collection.

Finally, I added butterflies to this great picket fence image. This die gets used a lot by me! It’s called Flurry of butterflies, and I’ve used both the positive and negative images in different cards. Today, I just chose a few of the larger butterflies, as well as an extra butterfly from the Flower Shoppe Diecuts.

Well, I’m off for a rest! All that work energy has gone! I’ll be back soon with more cards.
Until next time,
May your days be full of flowers
Donna
