Hello crafty friends.

I”m writing this in early July, but by the time you read this, it will be mid August, and I will be just finishing my first week of work in Japan. Send me your thoughts and prayers – I’ll be teaching Japanese to Japanese children for the first time ever – usually my pupils are Australian. I’ve been reading lots of Japanese literature for kids, and I’m excited to share it with my new classes. Anyway, here are the three cards that I made to share with you.

These cards are all made with the same ‘formula’ I have a front panel which I cut with a stitched rectangle die. Long term blog friends will know about the long love affair that I have with stitched rectangle dies. I then used a Vintage Label die to cut a window from the middle of the panel. On my card base, I ink blended a small patch where the window would sit. I then added my feature image, popped up to the same height as the front panel, and partial hidden, partially hanging over the edges of the hole. All the feature images come from the Paper Rose Poppy Garden Embossed Diecuts.

This second card has an added element behind the window, which is a panel made from the Stitching Coverplate die, also from Paper Rose. The sentiments all come from Paper Rose’s newly released (at the time of typing!) sentiment sets. I love the scripty fonts available in these sets.

This last card uses a more blocky font, which I also love. I refrained from adding any of the supplementary sentiments in the sets, leaving lots of white space on these cards instead.
