Hello friends. It’s butterfly season, both in real life, and in cardmaking land, it seems! Today’s card from me is a soft slimline card that layers the Butterfly Sketches stamps From Pink and Main and their matching dies to create an image that really looks like it’s just flying off the page!

I have made a short video of the making of this card, if you’d like to see it in more detail. You can see it here.
The background for this card is made using some Yupo paper and Copic refills. I used Copic B02 and Copic B21, as well as a bunch of colourless blender to keep the colours soft and flowy. I cut the panel using the Slimline Stitched Rectangle dies.

The Butterfly Sketches Stamp set has 7 different butterflies with different sizes and wing shapes, as well as 7 different sentiments.
I stamped three of the butterflies in clear ink onto some vellum, then heat embossed them with white embossing powder, making sure I kept the heat gun moving so as not to warp the vellum (too much!)

I then cut each butterfly out using the matching Butterfly Sketches dies (because nobody wants to cut antennae with scissors!) I also cut one of the papers from the Butterfly Kisses paper pad using each of the three dies to make background butterflies. Although these are three different colours, they actually come from just one sheet of paper.
I layered everything onto a blue slimline card that I cut from some Cornflower A4 card from Simon Says Stamp and scored. The lower paper butterflies were stuck directly to the Yupo, but the vellum butterflies were only attached at the centres, leaving the wings free so that I could bend them up a little.

The sentiment is stamped with one of the sentiments from the Butterfly Sketches stamp set, and I cut the banner using the Large Sentiment Strip Dies, which are the perfect size for so many of these sentiments. Lastly, I added some Butterfly Kisses enamel dots to complete the card.
Until next time, I hope that butterflies are making your days bright, whether they be on paper or in the air.
Blessings,
