Hello crafty friends! I’m so happy to be back sharing with you from my tatami room in Tokyo. I’m back to being a floor dweller after a month of sitting up at tables and on chairs in Australia! Many Japanese people rarely sit on the floor these days, but I’m old school perhaps, and love the romance of my kotatsu low table.

I have a card to share with you today that uses smaller stamps to create a big impact. This slimline wreath card was made using individual flower images from the Helen’s Bouquet and Lydia’s Bouquet stamp sets, both from Paper Rose Studio.

I stamped the images in Copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured them with my Copics. You can see a full list of the colours that I used for each flower in the video below, as well as the colouring technique for each flower.

Once all the flowers were coloured, I cut them right up against the edge, and went around the sides of the images with a Memento marker in Tuxedo Black again. This makes me look like a cutting hero, no matter what has gone before!

I used the Hand Stitching 1 Embossing Folder from Paper Rose Studio to emboss the background. Because the paper was larger than the folder, I embossed half from each side, lining up the ‘bumps’ of the pattern (You can see this in the video).

I then arranged the flowers, choosing trios of different types and colours of flowers, and spreading across the whole slimline panel. I glued all these flowers flat to the background so that they would look as much like one stamp as possible. I then added three Happy Birthday sentiments from the Rainbow Poppies Sentiment set.

I really enjoyed playing with the different flowers to come up with a bouquet that I liked, and I hope you did too.
