Hello crafty friends. Donna, back again with a set of cards that feature stitching dies- both with and without stitching! I originally made four cards, pictured below, but then I couldn’t stop and I made another card too, which you can see at the bottom of the post.

I have made a video of the card making process, and you can see that below.
For the first card, I used a die called Stitching Flower 2 from Paper Rose Studio. I stitched it up in variegated thread from DMC – colour 107, spreading the stitches evenly across the centre circle of holes. The paper for this card comes from a fun paper pack called Happy Stitches. I used the Hand Lettered Thanks die, cutting twice from white and once from burgundy, offsetting the burgundy slightly so that it provided a drop shadow.

That left me with the paper with the negative space from where I cut the flower. I had cut it centrally on a piece of card, and I trimmed this down to make a neat square. I cut another piece of the Happy Stitches paper down, and popped the white flower outline and my sentiment up with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink, and my fun square card was done.

Next, I cut three Stitching Flower 1 flowers. I have stitched these all slightly differently to show some of the possibilities, of which there are many! The cotton was DMC 92. I used a slimline card and added a background paper from a paper pad called Eucalyptus Dance, which I cut with a slimline stitched rectangle die. The sentiment comes from a set called Rainbow Poppies. You knew I couldn’t resist!!

Next , I used the negative space to make a shaker card with some more bright paper from Happy Stitches. I filled the space with a shaker mix from Paper Rose Studio called Winter Sky All the details of the shaker construction are on the video above.

Finally, a bonus card. I’ve used a Stitching Frames die from Paper Rose Studio for the Christmas ornament, and another die called Slimline Stitching Borders to cut the holes in the background paper. Just because something is a stitching die, doesn’t mean we have to stitch!

That’s all for today. I’ve really enjoyed getting back into stitching, and I think I’ll make some more stitched cards in the not too distant future!
Until next time, I hope you’re finding time to have fun!
Blessings,
Donna
