Hello crafty friends. I’m back with a Christmas card for you. It seems early to be thinking Christmas, but for cardmakers like us it’s already the season! 

The main images for this card are from the Winter Cardinals stamp set. This , and the other sets I have used today are from Pink and Main. I have stamped these in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured them with Copic markers, and then cut them out using the matching Winter Cardinal dies. I used a photo reference to match the red, but I couldn’t bring myself to add the black faces. I’m too chicken! 

The background was stamped using the lovely branches from the Pine Boughs stamp set in three places across the card. I then popped the cardinals up with foam tape, nestled in the branches. The sentiment comes from the Winter Cardinals stamp set, and it is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Why two different black inks? The Memento ink doesn’t smudge when it is used with Copic markers, but the Onyx black is a richer, glossier black, (and it doesn’t smudge with watercolours as a bonus!)

Finally, I mounted my panel onto a green card base to frame my little picture.
