Case Me a Christmas Card –

Hello crafty friends. I have a really special blog post for you today. Today’s card is for my friend Michelle Lupton. For several years now, Michelle has run a series in October called ‘Case Me a Christmas Card’, where she and another cardmaker take inspiration from a card made by the other, and create a Christmas card. Michelle informed me very sadly that this year, it was not going to be possible for her to carry out such a big undertaking, but luckily, the lovely Ardyth Percy Robb stepped up and rallied the troops to do this for Michelle. Take a look at my card, then I’ll tell you a funny story.

I spent quite some time looking through Michelle’s Instagram account, deciding which card to use, but I was really indecisive. There are a lot of great cards there to choose from. But, an even better opportunity presented itself when I went to visit Michelle for a crafty afternoon, and I got to play with some of her products, and CASE her card RIGHT UNDER HER NOSE!!!! So much fun!

The hero of this card is the Peeking Snowman die from Hero Arts. I cut these from white cardstock, and then coloured the image veeery carefully with my Copic Markers. It’s all in one, except for the top hat, which can be switched out for a Santa hat. The background was made using Simon Says Stamp’s wood Grain cardstock in white, which I love using, but especially love hoarding! I cut a strip from the left and swiped this with Tea Die Distress Ink (with a heavy hand) and then Vintage Photo Distress ink (quite lightly, so only the top of the grain got inked).

The sentiment comes from the Merry Christmas Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studio, and I popped everything except the white woodgrain up with foam tape.

That’s all for today’s card. I hope that our sneakiness brings a lot of joy to Michelle, and that you’ve enjoyed this card too!

Why not join in? The graphic below show you how!

Until next time, may you too have the joy of crafty friends in your life.

Blessings,

Donna
