Hi crafty friends. It’s Donna here and I have another in my series of stretch your supplies posts. I’ve used Christmas supplies to make birthday cards, Birthday supplies to make Christmas cards, and so on. Today I have what would perhaps be classified as a Valentine’s supply – a large I love you die, that I’m going to use for a series of cards.

Firstly, I used the die as suggested. The words love and you both have background shadows, and I’ve layered up those four layers, adding a little softness by using some ink on the background. I do love a mix of hard and soft edges.

If you take away the ‘love’, then the you can be inserted into any sentiment. Have a look through your stamp sets and sentiments and I’m sure there will be something there that has the word you in it, like ‘You are amazing’, ‘Happy birthday to You’ or ‘Miss You’. I used sentiment strips from Paper Rose studio for this, and I’ve linked the ones I used below. For this card, I used Copic markers to colour the letters of the word ‘YOU’ an I also ink blended a Butterfly Trellis background too.

You can also use images to decorate your card, as I’ve done in the card below with the magnolia stamp set. If you have a nice round image like a beach ball or Christmas bauble, you could even colour them and use them in place of the capital O.

Finally, I have a bonus card for you. If you combine the shadow and foreground die, you can make an outlined word, and weave your images into this, as I’ve done in the card below.
