Hello crafty friends. I have a pair of cards to share with you today that come with an exciting announcement. I’m on the A Blog Named Hero challenge design team for 2025! Each month there is a challenge theme, and by entering a card, you can win a $50 gift voucher. So, I had to decide what to do for my very first solo post, and of course, it was flowers. Luckily for me, it was a flower challenge! Here’s what I made.

This card is made using the Wild Columbine Stamp and the Wild Columbine layered stencil set from Hero Arts. I made a video of the making process, because I used some techniques that I think are worth sharing.
I created both cards from one big panel, which I cut in half once the stencilling was done. This first card uses just the stencil set. I used lots of masking so that I could stencil the flowers right up against each other. I used the sentiment from the same Wild Columbines stamp set for both cards.

For this card made from the second half of the panel, I went in with some gold embossing powder to add definition to the flowers. The process of using masking and then heat embossing is up on the video, as the order of operations can ensure a successful result!

I hope you’ve enjoyed these floral cards. If you’d like to join in the challenge, you have until February 28. You can find the details of the challenge on the Hero Arts blog here.

And, just in case you’re interested in the rest of the Hero Arts team, here we are!! There are some brilliant crafters in this group, some who I’ve known for a long time, and some delightful new friends too.

That’s all for today. May your day be full of flowers!
Blessings,
Donna
