Hello crafty friends. I have one last video to share with you before I head to Japan. The date is drawing nearer, but the packing is not progressing (aaaagh!) It’s so hard to pack to move countries, compared to packing for a holiday. I was really excited to be able to work with the Hero Arts Card Kit for July, called Road Trip. I had just the stamps and dies, not all the papers, and ink and other goodies that come in the kit, but I had such a great time dreaming up cards, and playing with ideas for stretching the supplies. Here are the cards I made , shown in the video thumbnail.
This first card uses the stamp set, which is a layering/building set that makes a country road scene. I played around with different ways of inking up the stamps to give different effects, like the striation on the clouds.

For this second card, I used the die of a car interior, with a view over the dashboard. I combined it with the stamped scene for this card. The die has a bunch of pieces to fill in the dash, but also a rear vision mirror, and there is another die set with different parts that could be added to the scene. I added a keep cup and sunglasses, but there are also much bigger elements such as fun arms and legs to mix up the scene.

These are the legs! I chose to use them on a separate card, rather than having shoes on my clean dashboard! The shorts and sneakers were really fun additions to the legs, and the laces were a separate die. This is probably my favourite card of all. I used Copic markers to colour these elements.

Finally, I’ve used the sunnies again, die cutting a bunch of them, then lining them up for a very cool card.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick look at the card kit. They are one of my favourite ways to create, because I love the creative stretch of mixing and matching supplies. Until next time, may your travels (and mine) be safe.
Blessings,
Donna
