Hello friends. (and family – I know you’re there, and I appreciate you!) I have a very autumnal card for you today. We have a dear friend who was leaving Japan, and I was asked to make a card that was bigger than my usual so that it could be signed by multiple people. Here’s what I made:

This card is 5 1/2″ by 5 1/2″. I first ink blended the background, using six different colors. These were (starting in the bottom left corner) Aged Mahogany, Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed. I then spattered the whole panel with Ripe Persimmon ink, which I mixed with a little water on my craft mat.

The next step is to let that panel completely dry. Yes, that is the whole paragraph. It’s that important!

I then dusted the panel with some anti static powder, and stamped the gorgeous floral image from Concord and 9th’s Hello Lovely Stamp set with Versamark ink. I then heat embossed this with this platinum embossing powder. I like the platinum because it’s nicely between white, which would be very stark, and gold, which would blend in a little too much for what I had in mind. I used the same combination for the sentiment, which comes from Altenew’s build-a-flower Sakura Blossom. I use the sentiments on this set a lot, because I really like the fonts.

I then spattered the whole panel with Perfect Pearls, which are a perfect shimmery colour match to the platinum embossing powder. A few sequins from my stash finished the card, which was very well received!

Ink blending is one of my favourite ways to make cards, and I’m really happy with how this one turned out.
