Hello friends. It’s Donna here, and I have a butterfly card for you today that uses the gorgeous big butterfly of the Dearest Friend stamp set. This butterfly is big enough to cover a whole card, which makes for stunning cards.

I first stamped the butterfly onto some Bristol Smooth Cardstock, using Versamark clear ink, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder from Hero Arts. I then used blue Distress Inks to blend over the butterfly and off the edges, using my Mini Ergonomic Blending Brush from Pink and Main. I followed the inner markings of the butterfly when deciding where to put the colours, but continued them off the edge, fading out towards the sides of the panel. The colours I chose were Broken China Distress Ink and Faded Jeans in Distress Oxide. Although one was an Oxide, and one an ink, they blended beautifully.

I then laid a little of the ink onto a stamping block by pressing the stamp pad onto the block. I picked the paper up with my paintbrush and spattered them over the panel before cutting it with the largest Stitched Rectangles 2 die. I also spattered the panel with clean water and then patted it off with a paper towel to give the lighter spatters. The sentiment comes from the same Dearest Friend stamp set. I heat embossed this in white, then moved the stamp just a smidge (the technical measurement) and stamped again in clear ink, which gave my sentiment a clear shadow.

This beautiful stamp really does the work for you, and it needs very little effort to make stunning cards!
