Hello Crafty friends. We’ve been busy here in Japan, sorting through our stuff ready to pack our house away. Today’s job? Hats and scarves. My goodness, they have bred over the three years we’ve been here. Everything is sorted into three piles – Leave in Japan for our return, take to Australia, or throw/give away. Slowly but surely we’re working our way through the house.

I have a set of three cards for you today, that use a single layout to save time. Today’s card features a bunch of images from the Solid Flowers and Leaves stamp from Paper Rose Studios. This type of card takes a little time to set up, but using a stamp positioning tool, such as the MISTI that I used, and making multiples at the same time make this set of cards quite simple.

I first made a rough stamping of my potential design. You can see in the video that it was indeed very rough, with some areas crossed out, and no care taken with clean images. It’s just a working document after all. You can see how I’ve used this in the video below.

I then placed this rough design into my MISTI , and laid down as many of the elements as I could without having them touch each other. I then stamped these three times, using different inks and papers for different looks, giving the stamps a quick clean between each stamping. I then removed these stamps and moved and added them to the next places, once again using my rough stamping guide to lay them onto. I repeated this process until all the cards we’re done.

I then trimmed each of the panels just a little and added sentiments the each card as I layered them up. For those who are interested, here are the colours used for each of the cards:

This first card used Unicorn White Pigment ink from Hero Arts, stamped onto Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy card. You can make the image even whiter by drying the ink with a heat tool between coats. The sentiment is from the Black and White Sentiment Strips from Paper Rose Studio.

This next card used Azurite ink from Altenew, and a sentiment from The Lotus Bouquet stamp from Paper Rose. I’ve used this sentiment a lot lately. The background strip for the sentiment was made by rubbing the inkpad directly across some Neenah Solar White card, which I used for the main panel too, so that the colour would be an exact match.

Lastly, this card uses a mix of inks, as well as a few sequins. The inks were Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock feathers, Eastern Sky and Puffy Heart, and I’ve added links to them below, or you can click on the ink colour written here to get more details. The sentiment was cut from a really cut paper pack from Paper Rose called Bee Hive.
