Hello friends. First of all, a big thank you to those of you who popped over and checked out the video that I made using the candles stencils. The response to it was amazing! I’m glad you all enjoyed it. I have another card for you today, – very different this time around. BUT, I also have a video which you can find linked below. If you like the look of watercolored cards, but are a little intimidated, this might be just the technique to get you started and give you confidence.

I stamped the absolutely beautiful bouquet from the brand new Sketched Florals stamp set (just released yesterday as this goes live!) with Pink and Main’s new Embossing and Watermark ink, and then used Frosting embossing powder to emboss it. I did all this onto watercolour paper because although the flowers didn’t use much water, the background had a generous amount. You can see the whole cardmaking process below.
There are so many possible watercolour mediums, but for today’s card, I chose some Altenew ink from the Tropical Forest, Sugarplums and Tranquility sets, and smooshed them onto a mat before picking up the ink with a brush, dropping it into the centre of each petal, then with an only just damp brush, spreading the ink a little before rinsing off my brush and repeating the process. I also used one colour of water brush marker – (Moss) to give me more depth of colour for the leaves. Again, you can see this in more detail on the video if you want more information. The trick for even blending is to to not have too much water, so you remain more in control.

I used a sentiment from the same Sketched Florals stamp set . I can’t think of a sympathy sentiment better than this. It’s exactly what I want to say. I stamped this in Versafine Onyx Black ink, The finishing touch was some Crystal Clear Enamel Dots. I also mounted the panel slightly off centre onto a burgundy cardstock piece to give the watercolour one strong edge.

I hope that you have enjoyed a look at this beautiful new stamp set and are inspired to try some watercolour yourself. Until next time, may you have flowers in your days
Blessings,
