Hello crafty friends. I have a pair of soft cards for you today, that I really love. You can’t keep me away from butterflies and flowers!

I have started out with just white cardstock, and coloured things up from there. I first cut a bunch of flowers and butterflies using two dies from Paper Rose Studio – Etched Flowers and Little Etched Butterflies. These dies both cut the outline, and add the etched details at the same time. I then blended some inks in similar colours – a range of peaches for one card, and some blue-purples for the other. I have a video for you below, or you can see it on my YouTube channel too.
Once I had a bunch of ink blended images, I cut some Stitched Rectangles. For the coral card, I cut a smaller rectangle so that the butterfly border could be wider, but for the blue card, I used a bigger panel so that I fit on maximum die cuts! I glued the butterflies and flowers with liquid glue, holding them down with a stamp block while the glue dried.

For both cards, I made the sentiment using the Hello Layered Oval Die. I used vellum for the back layer, so in order to avoid using glue on vellum, for each card, I cut two extra ‘hellos’ from white cardstock with double sided adhesive on them. I cut one from the front and one from the back of the card with adhesive. The video probably does a better job of explaining this than I can in words. Using the two ‘stickers’ that I’d created, I put one on the front and one on the back of the vellum. The top layer of the sentiments were cut from gold and silver glitter paper from my stash.

The cards were Card Bases USA from Paper Rose Studio. I used to cut all my own card bases and score them, but I’m finding these to be a really convenient alternative.
That’s all for today’s cards, I hope that your days are full of butterflies, and flowers too. Until next time,
Blessings,

Hi Sally. Donna here. I got mine from Costco. Are you In Australia? Apparently you can buy it on Amazon there too. It’s not cheap but it should last a life time. I reuse mine many times before throwing away each piece. I’m Aussie but as I’m currently in Japan I bought mine here. Hope this helps.
