Not just monochrome.

Hello crafty friends. I have a set of three cards today that are in a colour palette that I keep coming back to over and over again. I used the Sweet Foliage stencil from Paper Rose and blended it in moss green, lime green and a bright yellow combinations. Each of the backgrounds has a slightly different blending pattern and different sentiments. I hope you can see some ideas here.

These cards are so me. Just the right amount of busy and calm for my taste. Also to my taste are the Japanese dishes that I’m slowly collecting ( again, as though I didn’t take home enough last time we lived in Japan!!) These are new acquisitions, and have little bit of gold leaf on them. The card below has two added layers of spatter on top of the ink blending. Firstly, water, which reacted with the inks, and removed some, them ink ( moss green) mixed with a little water to give a darker spatter. I’m not sure that I don’t actually prefer the plain inkblending, but it’s nice to mix it up sometimes.

Finally, I have the plainest of all, with the Thanks border die as the sentiment. This can be cut with a larger base, but I cut it right down so that the sentiment was resting on just a thin strip of cardstock.

Here are the cards all together, I love making little sets of cards. It gives me great pleasure to see them all lined up together, or to give them as a set to a friend, or (usually) a sister.
