Kid’s cards and a start to the school year.

Hello crafty friends. Donna here, with my first cards for the new school year. Teaching in Japan, with a US oriented International school means that often my timetable doesn’t match that of anybody I know.

This week I’ve been making kids’ birthday cards. I had some wonderful big letters from the School Days Alphabet Embossed Diecuts and I thought they’d make fun themed cards for an upcoming market at our school. You might think that the choices of letter are a little unusual, but having kids from different countries means that even letters like Y might be in hot demand!!

For each of these cards, I made a textured background using the Ben’s Plaid 3D embossing folder. then added a pop of colour in the borders using the matching School Days Basics 6×6 papers. I love bright happy cards for kids and these were super quick to make.

I’m wondering about having a set of pre-made backgrounds with the letters ready to add to order at the market. What do you think?

There were also many small letters filling in the spaces between the larger ones, so I made this little card too, suitable for anybody’s name!! 6 cards so far, and all very simple.

I hope that you’re having a great week, and the weather is getting kinder wherever you are. Here in Tokyo, the minimum is going to drop below 20 degrees Celsius for the first time in many months. I for one cannot wait!!

Until next time,

Donna
