Pink and Main/Joy Clair blog hop

Hello again friends. I have two cards to share with you today as part of a collaboration. One of my favourite things about the crafty community is the way that people bring each other up, and the businesses in the community work together, rather than in competition.

Here’s how the hop works. Visit the ten blogs along the hop, get inspired, and then leave a comment before moving to the next hop. There are prizes to be won from both companies, drawn on May 10, and some lovely cards to see along the way. You may have come here from the lovely Priscilla Joseph’s blog, nubble light designs, if you’ve been following the hop from the beginning. Otherwise, why not start here, and just circle back at the end.

I was originally only going to make one card, but one little cutie just didn’t quite fit without things being too crowded, so in the end, he got his very own card.

The first stamp set I used was Joy Clair’s Harvest Blessings. I used a lot of masking to create the main image, so that the scarecrow would sit behind the pumpkins. I also kept the masking on and added a ground line with post it tape before blending above and below that line. I’ve created a video of this process, along with some fabulous music by my teenage son, if you’d like to watch it below.

The images were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and coloured with my Copic Markers. I tried to make each of the pumpkins different to the others. I also stamped the sweet little hedgehogs as well as a bunch of leaves and acorns from the Fall Friends Stamp Set onto a separate piece of card, and coloured those too before cutting them out with the Fall Friends Matching dies.

The sentiment comes from another Joy Clair stamp set called Hey Pumpkin. I stamped that in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

For the second card, I used the already coloured images, stealing a few leaves from the first card. This time, I used ivory card, and masked two edges of the card with the post it tape and used the same colors to blend out from the corner. The sentiment on this card comes from the Fall Friends stamp set.

Thank you so much for hopping along. Your next stop is Ericka Strange, and I know you’ll love what you see there!

Below is a list of the hop from beginning to end, in case you get lost.
