Hello, hello! I’ve got a spring in my step today (or should I say an autumn?) because the heat is finally starting to break here in Tokyo, along with the humidity. I’d even open my windows if they weren’t knocking down the house next door! Dusty and noisy, but we’re going to have a beautiful light house when they’re done, just in time for the winter sun to stream in.

I have a cosy card to share today.

The main focal image is the lovely cup from the Need to Venti stamp set from Pink and Main. I’ve stamped this with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White card and coloured it with Copic markers. I then cut it out with the matching die. I also stamped the sentiment from this stamp set with Versamark ink onto black card, and heat embossed it in Hero Arts White embossing powder. This set has quite a few punny sentiments that would be fun for coffee loving friends.

I then used Pink and Main’s Leafy Slimline dies to cut two leaves from gold shimmer paper. This die cuts a panel of leaves that fit perfectly onto a slimline card, but today, I chose two leaves and cut them carefully from the line of leaves with scissors, and nestled these behind the cup, along with a broad strip of vellum.

The background was made using the Leafy Stencil, also from Pink and Main, and two colours of rusty brown ink. I used a tiny blending brush to apply the inks, changing colours often. I cut this panel using this Stitched Rectangle die, and layered this onto a white card base.

Wrapping vellum around a panel is one of my favourite ways to secure it – no glue in sight! I used various layers of foam tape to give the card some dimension, and it was done!
