Too Pink???

Hello crafty friends. I’m sitting here looking at the grey skies and pouring rain and finding the perfect antithesis to this in a card. The bright colours are significantly helping my mood! And to make things better I got to play with a new product at the same time! Pink and Main have put out a new Mini Ergonomic Ink Blender Brush, which was a lot of fun to use.

I’ve used Pink and Main’s Let’s Flamingle stamp set today and combine it with a bunch of pink for a bright, fun card that is guaranteed to chase the grey away. I’ve used just the leaves from this stamp set before for a very soft restful look (you can see that card here), so today I’ve taken a completely different tack.

In order to create the background panel, I used the Cracked Stencil from Pink and Main and blended Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves. The smaller blending brush allowed me to have smaller areas of colour, and to get a smooth blend. After I had blended over the stencil, I removed the stencil and just lightly blended over the whole panel so that there were no harsh white lines.

I then stamped the flamingo from Let’s Flamingle using Memento ink, which is Copic friendly, and then coloured it using Copic Markers. The colours I used were R08, R05, R22, R20, C7, and of course copious quantities of colorless blender around the outside of the image!!!

I used the R22 to colour a scrap of card, and then I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black, which gives a really dark crisp black.

Finally, there is a white circle, and I used two different circle dies to create this. The circle is cut using the Layered Circle Dies, and the embossing was added using the Reverse Scallop Circle Dies, which added a lovely texture.

I hope you have enjoyed this pop of colour! If you’d like to see more of my cards (almost all of which are not this bright!) then feel free to visit my Instagram feed.
